Mujeres Florero reflects on the historical and cultural positioning of women as ornamental objects.
The works take the form of sculptural vessels, simultaneously functional and symbolic, evoking the Spanish expression mujer florero: “flower vase woman.”
Hand-built in clay, each piece combines fluid curves with deliberate voids, creating forms that are both alluring and unsettling. Glaze, texture, and colour are applied to heighten contrasts between surface beauty and underlying critique.
The series sits at the intersection of craft and social commentary, using ceramic tradition to question roles, value, and agency.
